Coach Tom has an extensive basketball background as a former intercollegiate player, European professional, High School coach, NBA coach, WNBA coach, National Team Coach (Japan 2000), and International Premiere Leagues coach (Belgium, Greece, China)…Coach Newell endeavors to share his wealth of knowledge and teaching experiences with volunteer youth basketball coaches, participants (early age), players and educating parents on the nuances of supporting one’s child in this activity…He has co-authored a book with his late father, Hall of Fame Coach, Pete Newell, Basketball Post Play, Masters Press 1995, and is currently revising his father’s first publication: Basketball Methods,  Randall Press 1960, revised to , Basketball Methods Revisited…He currently trains a large number of Student Athletes from Middle School thru Intercollegiate levels on weekends in the Northwest…He also provides a free youth basketball camp for kids in Seattle through the Cities of Seattle, Tukwila and Renton Community Centers…This camp has been the recipient of the prestigious Denny Award 2008 as one of the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Community Service providers…
